WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Sixth-ranked West Chester University throttled visiting Millersville, 20-3, in a PSAC East women’s lacrosse match at Vonnie Gros Field on a beautiful Thursday afternoon.
West Chester (11-2, 9-0 PSAC East) rattled off nine straight goals after Millersville (5-8, 2-7) scored the game’s first tally 22 seconds into the contest. After the Marauders made it a 9-2 game, the Golden Rams went on another 10 consecutive goals that put the hosts on top 19-2 with seven minutes left to play.
Chrissy Stokes scored four times and assisted on two others while Jackie Baker netted four of her own and added three assists for a seven-point outing. Claire Grimwood scored twice and assisted three times, and Courtney Whiting posted two goals and two assists. Jackie Hoover registered two goals as well.
Mary Beth Green (11-2) registered five saves in the win.
West Chester outshot Millersville, 45-13, and won the ground ball battle, 25-17, while forcing the Marauders into 34 turnovers.
Katy Crouse caused three turnovers and picked up four ground balls while securing two draw controls.
The Golden Rams play their final regular-season home game on Saturday at 1 p.m. when Stonehill visits West Chester for a non-league contest.
