Women's Swimming Opens With 129-71 Win Over Shippensburg

WEST CHESTER, Pa.
- West Chester University's women's swimming & diving squad opened the season in impressvie style with a 129-71 win over visiting Shippensburg inside Graham Natatorium on Saturday afternoon. 

West Chester won 10 of the events with Erin Fischer a double winner in the 200-yard Individual Medley (2 minutes, 13.57 seconds) and the 100 buterfly (57.90). Kristen Montello won the 200 freestyle and 500 free events (1:57.53 and 5:16.41); while senior Megan Bauer won the 50 and 100 free events (24.82, 53.75).

On the diving boards, newcomers Cat Rose won both competitions, hitting NCAA qualifying marks in the process. She scored a 322.25 off the 1-meter and a 283.90 in the 3-meter event. Michelle Murphy, Kelsey Tennett and Dana DePaul each hit NCAA qualifying scores off the boards as well - making it four NCAA qualifiers in diving on the first weekend of the season.
