WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Brandon Wolfe was 3-for-3 with six RBI and Christian Cox went 4-for-5 with three RBI to lead West Chester’s 10th-ranked baseball squad to a non-league victory over visiting Lincoln University on a sunny and slightly windy Wednesday afternoon.
West Chester (19-3) ran its record to a season-high 10 games with the win, and senior shortstop Nick Spisak tied former teammate Matt Cotellese for both the school record and conference record for runs scored in a season with his 202nd career run.
The Golden Rams scored 22 runs on 19 hits and made one error. Lincoln scored two runs on six hits in the non-league tilt.
West Chester took advantage of a pair of miscues in the bottom of the first to score six unearned runs and take an early 7-0 lead that it would never relinquish. Sophomore right-hander Jordan Lehman (2-0) picked up the win in the pre-arranged pitching rotation that paraded to the mound for the Rams.
John Hopkins struck out five batters in two innings of work, following Lehman to the mound.
West Chester will face East Stroudsburg on Friday in a PSAC East doubleheader at Serpico Stadium.
