West Chester Women's Lacrosse Set To Host PSAC Semifinals

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - No. 6 West Chester University will host the 2010 PSAC Women's Lacrosse semifinals this weekend at Vonnie Gros Field. The Golden Rams kick off the semifinals on Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. against No. 8 Gannon. That game is followed by No. 3 Lock Haven taking on Bloomsburg at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Tickets to the PSAC Women's Lacrosse semifinal are $7 for adults and $2 for students. Students from PSAC member institutions with a valid school ID will be admitted free. No complimentary tickets.

Gannon defeated No. 4 Mercyhurst, 15-9, in one PSAC quarterfinal matchup on Tuesday afternoon. Bloomsburg eliminated East Stroudsburg, 19-15, in the other quarterfinal on Tuesday. Those pair of victories advanced both Gannon and Bloomsburg to this weekend's semifinal.

Friday's first semifinal matchup will be a rematch from a regular-season meeting earlier in April won by West Chester, 12-11, in three overtimes.

West Chester (16-0) just completed its first undefeated regular season since 1974. The Golden Rams are looking to regain the PSAC championship it lost to Lock Haven one year ago. The Eagles ended a five-year run of titles by the Rams with that 13-10 triumph last May.
