WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Megan Stewart set the school record for career steals and posted 13 points, seven assists and seven rebounds to lead West Chester to a 75-60 victory over visiting Lock Haven inside Hollinger Field House in a PSAC women’s basketball crossover tilt Sunday afternoon.
West Chester (9-3) rebounded after its first loss at home on Saturday in overtime to outscore Lock Haven (7-4), 44-29, in the second half after the two squads stood even at 31 at the break.
Stewart was one of four players in double figures as Allison Hostetter led the Golden Rams with 15 points. Carly Strickland posted a career-high 13 points off the bench, and Alex Lennon notched 14 points, missing a double-double by just one rebound. Hostetter grabbed 11 boards to record her fifth double-double of the year.
Stewart added four steals to her line, breaking the school record of 281 career steals set by Cecilia Rodden from 1984-87. Stewart now has 284 career swipes to her credit.
