Box Score Box Score

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Allison Hostetter scored a career-high 24 points, and Alex Lennon posted 15 points and four blocked shots to lead West Chester to an 84-70 victory over host Holy Family in a non-league women’s basketball contest Tuesday night.

West Chester (4-0) moved its season-opening win streak to four straight with the win over Holy Family (3-3).

“We went with the five-in and five-out substitution pattern once again,” WCU head coach Deirdre Kane said. “And I think it really paid off down the stretch.”

Jillian Keefer scored 18 points in support of Hostetter’s 24 and Lennon’s 15. Keefer was 3-for-4 from 3-point range and 5 of 6 from the free throw line. Meghan Kerrigan dished out a career-best seven assists as well.

With the Golden Rams clinging to a 70-67 lead, West Chester went on a 14-3 run over the final 4:23 of the contest to put the game away. The Rams went 4-for-5 from the line down the stretch to keep the Tigers at bay.

The Golden Rams shot 50 percent from the foul line (34-for-68) and 45.5 percent from behind the 3-point arc (5 of 11).

West Chester returns home this weekend for a pair of PSAC crossover contests against Clarion and Gannon on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
