EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - Tori Dugan registered a hat trick during a four-point day while Jackie Hoover and Claire Grimwood each scored a pair of goals to lead sixth-ranked West Chester to a 12-6 win over host East Stroudsburg in a PSAC women's lacrosse match Tuesday afternoon.
West Chester (2-1, 1-0 PSAC) bounced back from its loss to No. 2 Limestone with a very important league win over East Stroudsburg (2-3, 0-1).
Grimwood finished with three points on the day and also picked up six ground balls. Hoover led the squad with seven ground balls.
The Golden Rams opened up a 3-0 lead with a pair of goals from Dugan that followed Shannon Hayes' first tally of season. Both Devon Lotkowski and Lauren Glassey restored West Chester's three-goal lead when East Stroudsburg put its first two goals in the back of the cage.
Lotkowski answered a marker from Molly O'Hara, and Glassey followed up ESU's Christine Bradley. O'Hara finished with a game-high four goals for the Warriors.
MacKenzie O'Keefe (2-1) made two saves and allowed three goals in the first half. Jess Henderson came on in the second half to record four saves and allow three tallies as well.
West Chester opens its home slate on Thursday afternoon with a non-league tilt against Holy Family at Vonnie Gros Field at 4 p.m.
