Box Score

WEST CHESTER, Pa.
- Steve Hlava won his singles match and teamed up with Nate Geigle at first doubles for a win, but it was not enough as visiting Gettysburg College defeated host West Chester, 6-3, in a non-league men's tennis match Tuesday afternoon.

West Chester (3-8) picked up wins at Nos. 3-4 singles, along with the Hlava's and Geigle's win at first doubles. Hlava and Geigle trailed for much of the doubles match. However, the tandem was able to rattle off three straight sets to claim an 8-5 come-from-behind victory.

David Goldenberg dropped his first set at fourth singles, 6-2, but rallied to take the second set, 6-2, and captured the third set in a tie-breaker format, 10-9. Hlava won the first set of his match at third singles, 6-2, before dropping the second set, 7-6 (5). He rallied to beat his opponent in the third set, 10-7.

Gettysburg won fifth and sixth singles in straight sets after capturing second and third doubles, 8-4 and 8-2, respectively. Gettysburg picked up a win by retirement at first singles after Geigle went down to an injury.

West Chester will be back in action at home on Thursday against University of Sciences.
