OAKDALE, N.Y. - No. 9 Dowling used a stellar second half performance to a 16-7 non-league women's lacrosse victory over visiting seventh-ranked West Chester on Long Island Tuesday afternoon.
West Chester (10-2) saw its nine-game win streak to an end as Dowling outscored the Golden Rams, 9-1, in the second half to pull away.
Claire Grimwood led the Rams with three goals. Nicole Pyle, Tori Dugan, Devon Lotkowski and Erin Oczkowski also scored. MacKenzie O'Keefe (8-2) made 11 saves in the loss for West Chester.
The Golden Rams trailed just 7-6 at halftime, but could not keep up with the hosts over the final 30 minutes.
