Box Score
WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Junior forward Kayla Gluchowski scored a career-high four goals and Molly Herlihy added a career-best pair of goals to help West Chester University to a PSAC crossover win against visiting Mansfield University at Vonnie Gros Field Friday afternoon.
With the win, West Chester (8-1) improved its winning streak to six straight while Mansfield fell to 3-6.
The Golden Rams, who beat the Mountaineers, 10-1, jumped out early on their guests and never looked back. Gluchowski scored twice in the first half and then added another pair after halftime to finish with a career-high eight points in the contest. Herlihy put one in on each side of halftime for the Golden Rams.
Kristin Arnold (8-1) made two saves in the cage in the first half. Gabby Panasiewicz relieved Arnold at halftime and registered six saves. Mansfield's three goalkeepers posted a total of 15 saves in the loss.
Senior co-captains Nicole Fiorilla and Brynn Adams each posted a goal and an assist, as did Megan Callanan. Carly Buckwalter scored the other goal off a penalty corner after time had expired in the first half.
Stef Pirri, Leah Angstadt, Alisha Moran and Courtney Wolff each registered an assist as well.
The nine-goal differential was the largest margin of victory for the Golden Rams since they defeated Monmouth, 9-0, in the first round of the 2007 Vonnie Gros Classic. The 10 goals marked the first time that West Chester hit double digits in a game since beating Central Washington, 10-1, in the first round of the AIAW national tournament on the way to the school's fourth straight national championship in 1978.
Second-ranked West Chester welcomes third-ranked Shippensburg to Vonnie Gros Field Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. for another crossover contest.
