LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - West Chester University sophomore Bogdan Grebenyuk was named the PSAC male swimmer of the week it was announced by that organization Tuesday afternoon.
Grebenyuk posted a pair of NCAA 'B' provisional qualifying times in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke in West Chester's dual meet against Division I Penn.
The sophomore, who already ranks second and first, respectively, in the PSAC in those two events, finished second in the meet in both races. He touched the wall in :57.52 in the 100-yd breaststroke and in 2:06.61 in the 200. Both times would rank fifth in the PSAC if he did not already own better times. His time in the 100 set the school record for a dual meet and his time in the 200 marked the second-best time in WCU history in a dual meet.
West Chester will continue to train for the PSAC Championships next month at Cumberland Valley High School.
