Box Score

CALIFORNIA, Pa. – Allison Hostetter and Alexandra Lennon each scored 22 points as visiting West Chester downed host California (Pa.), 89-66, in a PSAC women’s basketball crossover inside the Convocation Center Saturday night.

Hostetter became the 16th player in WCU history to eclipse 1,000 career points in the win. West Chester (9-3, 5-3 PSAC) defeated Cal (8-4, 5-3) for the first time since the 2000-01 season, ending a 14-game losing streak to the Vulcans in the process. It also marked the first time in 10 tries that the Golden Rams won on Cal’s home court.

Hostetter picked up her 1,000th point on her first basket of the second half. The senior guard scored 16 of her game-high 22 in the first half as West Chester built a 21-point lead in the first 20 minutes by shooting 45 percent from the field. Cal turned the ball over 16 times in the first half and shot just 33 percent.

Lennon took over the scoring in the second half with 14 of her 22 points after the break. Paige Elliott notched 13 points off the bench while Ambreelinne Ortman scored 12 to round out four Golden Rams in double figures.
