WEST CHESTER, Pa. -  Neil Gallagher and Roberto Silva each scored in the first half as the Golden Rams men’s soccer team topped Lock Haven, 2-0, in a PSAC tilt Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Rams (4-7-2, 3-2-1 PSAC) struck early in the fifth minute when Gallagher scored off a header. The goal, Gallagher’s second of the year, came off a corner kick from Dan Venuto. Just before halftime, Silva blasted a perfect pass from Alex Badulak to the upper right corner of the net for his first goal of the season.

The Golden Rams’ defense did its job from there, helping goalkeeper Garrett Bleiler earn his second shutout of the season by stopping four shots in the process.

Jake Maxwell and Conor Malarney each added a shot on net for the Golden Rams. Both defenses were solid as Lock Haven only allowed seven shots in the whole game. The win leaves West Chester tied for fourth place in the league standings with California (Pa.), who the Golden Rams defeated earlier in the year. The top six clubs advance to the PSAC Tournament. Both Cal and West Chester have 10 points on the year.

The Golden Rams return to action Tuesday at 4 p.m. when they travel to East Stroudsburg for a PSAC contest.
