WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Ninth-ranked West Chester University jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in an 18-8 PSAC women's lacrosse victory over visiting Edinboro on a beautiful spring afternoon at Vonnie Gros Field Saturday.
Under blue skies and temperatures in the mid-70s, West Chester (10-1, 7-1 PSAC) opened up a 5-0 lead early against the Edinboro squad (5-8, 1-7).
Lauren Glassey and Jacki Patterson each scored four goals while Nicole Pyle and Erin Oczkowski added hat tricks each. Both Glassey and Patterson contributed a pair of assists to finish with six points. Pyle had one assist for a four-point outing.
Tori Dugan, MacKenzie O'Keefe, Jamie Dolan and Stacey Pellechia each tallied a goal as well. Dugan finished with three points, adding a pair of assists to her totals. Dugan also secured eight draw controls.
Andrea Smith caused three turnovers and Patterson also caused a pair of miscues.
Jess Henderson (10-1) played 48 minutes and only had to make one save. Kelsey Sward came on and made one save in the final 12 minutes of action.
West Chester is back in action on Monday at Vonnie Gros Field when it hosts undefeated and top-ranked LeMoyne College at 3 p.m. in a non-league showdown.
