No. 10 Lock Haven Downs No. 9 West Chester, 12-9

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – No. 10 Lock Haven scored six of the seven goals in the second half to come from behind and defeat ninth-ranked West Chester, 12-9, on a sunny and warm Friday afternoon at Vonnie Gros Field.
 
West Chester (11-2, 7-2 PSAC) falls into a three-way tie for second place with both Gannon and Mercyhurst as a result of the loss. Lock Haven (10-4, 8-1) takes over sole possession of first place with the win. It marked the fifth straight time, dating back to the PSAC Championship Game in 2009, that the home team has lost the matchup between these two schools.
 
The Lady Eagles scored the final five goals on the game and surrendered just one tally in the second half to erase an 8-6 halftime deficit. Chelsea Borrino scored twice during the run while Elyse Fisher registered one goal and picked up an assist.
 
Tori Dugan registered a hat trick for the Golden Rams while Nicole Pyle scored back-to-back tallies late in the first half that gave West Chester an 8-5 lead. Emily Cilla knotched a goal with just over a minute left to send the Lady Eagles into the half down two.
 
West Chester opened up the game in strong fashion scoring the game’s first three goals in six minutes. However, Lock Haven answered right back with three straight goals to tie the game at the 16:51 mark. The Rams went on another three-goal run to open up a 6-3 advantage with 10 minutes left in the half. Two of those three markers came on free position attempts – one from MacKenzie O’Keefe and another from Erin Oczkowski.
 
Lock Haven would go on to score the next two tallies to draw within one (6-5) with 3:53 to play.
 
West Chester takes on Indiana (Pa.) at Vonnie Gros Field Saturday afternoon on Senior Day. Game time is has been moved to 1 p.m.
