WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester University battles Shippensburg University Friday at 4 p.m. inside Vonnie Gros Field in its annual Lax-4-Life contest.
West Chester University was at the forefront of the Lax-4-Life program since its inception in 2009 to raise awareness for suicide intervention. WCU former goalkeeper Mary Beth Green’s younger sister committed suicide that summer. West Chester University built the Lax-4-Life program out of that trajedy to help other families and teens strugggling with life’s challenges. What began as one team trying to make a small difference has grown exponentially, especially across the PSAC. Last season 63 teams around the country participated in the fight.
West Chester University will be selling T-shirts, sweatshirts and wristbands with all proceeds going to the Lax-4-Life program.
