WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Kayla Gluchowski, Michele Schrift and Kelsey Cheek each scored a goal and registered an assist as host West Chester opened things up late and cruised past visiting Seton Hill, 6-0, Saturday afternoon at Vonnie Gros Field.
West Chester (4-1) scored four goals in the second half to break open a tight 2-0 game against Seton Hill (3-3). However, the entire first half was played in the Griffins’ end. The Golden Rams held a 16-0 edge in penalty corners at halftime. Seton Hill stood its ground, allowing just two goals under the constant pressure.
Nancy Stehman tipped in a shot from Michele Schrift to get things started in the first half. Alexis Versak then did the same thing on a pass from Gluchowski to double the lead before the break.
Gluchowski and Schrift then scored back-to-back unassisted markers three minutes apart in the second half to open things up, 4-0. Kelsey Cheek dove and swiped in a loose ball in front of the net in the 59
th minute, before assisting Leanne McManus on her goal with six minutes left.
Kristin Arnold made just six saves to pick up the shutout. Autumn Reid started in the cage for Seton Hill and recorded 10 saves.
