LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Freshman Brittany Sicinski scored a career-high 21 points, and senior Alexandra Lennon added 19, as visiting West Chester defeated host Lock Haven, 75-64, in a PSAC women's basketball game inside Thomas Fieldhouse Saturday night.

West Chester (7-4, 4-3 PSAC) won its sixth straight against Lock Haven (4-7, 1-6), outscoring the Lady Eagles by 21 points in the second half. The Golden Rams trailed Lock Haven, 35-25, at the break, but shot the ball much better in the second to erase that deficit.

Mired in a shooting slump in the first half, West Chester shot 53.3 percent (16-for-30) in the second half and outscored Lock Haven, 50-29, to complete the comeback. Lennon posted 14 of her 19 points in the final 20 minutes. The Rams made just nine baskets in the first half and shot 26.5 percent in the first half.

Sicinski put up 13 of her 21 in the second half during her first career start. Sicinski got the starting nod in place of Dallas Ely. She recorded nearly one-third of West Chester’s points in the first 20 minutes, but really was most effective after halftime. Sicinski sank 8 of 9 free throws in the game. She ranks third in the conference in foul shooting with an 87.9 percent mark (29 of 33).

A 3-pointer from Elliott at the 12:46 mark, capped a 20-10 run for the Golden Rams to open the second frame and tied the contest at 45-apiece.

Ambreelinne Ortman (13 points) nailed a 3-pointer midway through the second half to put West Chester in front 51-48. The Lady Eagles rallied to tie the score at 51. However, Ortman connected on a jumper three minutes later to put the Rams ahead for good, sparking a 12-6 run by the visitors that gave them a 63-53 advantage with just under two minutes remaining.

West Chester converted 17 of 21 free throws in the game.

Elliott registered 10 points, following up her 11-point effort on Friday at Clarion. The senior guard was instrumental in West Chester’s weekend sweep of its PSAC West opponents. Elliott, Sicinski, Lennon and Ortman all scored in double figures, accounting for 63 of the team’s 75 points in the tilt.

Sophomore Serifat Junaid blocked a career-high four shots in the game as well. She was the defensive force for the Golden Rams that Lennon typically supplies. Junaid was particularly effective in the first half to keep the visitors in the game. She posted four points and three of her blocks in 10 minutes of action before the break.

West Chester, which has not lost to Lock Haven since 2007, picked up its second win in as many days. The Golden Rams return home next Friday to take on PSAC West foe Mercyhurst in Hollinger Field House at 5:30 p.m.
