KUTZTOWN, Pa. – West Chester University dropped a pair of 3-1 volleyball matches against both Seton Hill and California (Pa.) in Keystone Arena in Kutztown Friday afternoon.
West Chester (10-11, 2-9 PSAC) has now lost five straight, including the last four by 3-1 scores. The Golden Rams dropped its match with Seton Hill by scores of 25-15, 25-13, 25-27, 26-24 and to the nationally ranked Cal Vulcans by scores of 25-10, 17-25, 25-23, 25-11.
Marina Sharkey posted 14 kills against Seton Hill and 10 more in the nightcap against Cal. Allison Grammer notched 11 kills in the opener and added 10 in the nightcap. Sharkey hit .214 in each match. Mandy Flynn registered 12 assists against the Griffins and 19 against the Vulcans while sharing setting duties with Samantha Agostini.
Agostini recorded seven kills in the first match and 16 assists to go along with six digs. She dished out 26 assists in the second match and added seven more digs.
Julia O’Brien posted five blocks in each match. She added eight kills in the opener against Seton Hill and nine more against Cal. Freshman Callie Krajcir posted a combined 28 digs in the two matches.
Senior Tyler Shaefer notched 13 digs against Cal and another nine against Seton Hill. Dana Markol registered 10 digs against Cal.
West Chester takes on Indiana (Pa.) and Clarion Saturday in Kutztown to round out play in the PSAC Crossover this weekend.
