WEST CHESTER, Pa. – West Chester University made a valiant comeback, but it was not enough as Quinnipiac held on for a 29-22 victory on South Campus in an NCAA women's rugby contest Saturday morning.

West Chester (3-2) trailed 24-10 early in the second half, but could only get with one score after a try from Arielle Gantt with 13 minutes to play. It was her second try of the half.

Nicole Benedetti and Sophia Schwab each posted trys in the first half. But, Quinnipiac led, 19-10, at the break. For Schwab, it was her first career try.

West Chester will host Temple next Friday night at 7 p.m. inside Farrell Stadium.
