PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Victor Polyakov continued his torrid pace at the Frank Elm Invitational while helping the 800-yard freestyle relay set a PSAC record on the second day of competition at the Sonny Werblin Rec Center Saturday evening.

West Chester moved into second place with 1,280.5 points, trailing only Army with 1,691.5 points. Drexel, Villanova and Saint Peter's round out the field of Division I opponents.

Polyakov led off the 800 free relay with a time of 1 minute, 11.92 seconds, which set a PSAC mark, while the rest of the foursome, Phil Letcavage, Jared Haley and Bradley Strathmeyer pitched in to post an overall time of 6:37.63 and set yet another conference record. That time was good for first place and just four second off a Division II "A" cut time.

Bogdan Grebenyuk also set a new PSAC record in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 54.8 seconds. He won that event while teammate David McCormick placed second in 55.72 seconds. McCormick won the 400 individual medley, posting the second-best time in school history. He touched the wall in 3:56.94. Teammate Mike Oliver was second in 4:03.58, and Evan DeaKyne was fifth in 4:06.26.

The 200 medley relay, consisting of Michael O'Brien, Grebenyuk, Luke Maguire and Ryan Stahley, turned in a winning time of 1:31.57 in the finals. Maguire also won the 100 butterfly with a time of 49.56. O'Brien was right behind him in 50.23.

Polyakov won the 200 free in 1:39.21, and Letcavage was seventh in 1:43.62 while Strathmeyer was eighth in 1:43.93. O'Brien placed runner-up in the 100 backstroke (51.07 seconds) while teammate Dan Sokman was seventh in 52.41.

The third and final day gets under way on Sunday with prelims at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m.
