SHREVEPORT, La. - West Chester University senior gymnast Kaley LaFleur turned in her career-high all-around score in her final college women's gymnastics meet on Friday at the USA Gymnastics Championships. She also earned an All-America certificate on the beam for her sixth-place finish.
LaFleur scored a 38.200 in the all-around, setting a new career high while placing fourth during her session. She would finish the day 15th overall after both sessions were completed. Meanwhile, her score of 9.7 on the balance beam earned her a sixth-place finish and an All-America citation. She was named an alternate on the beam for the finals, meaning she could still compete on Sunday, if one of the others, who qualified, cannot perform.
LaFleur finished off her events with a 9.6 on the vault, placing 17th, while earning a 9.625 on the floor exercise (18th) and a 9.275 on the uneven bars.
Melissa Prisco scored a 9.525 on the vault and placed 25th overall in her first national competition. Meghan Brannon turned in an excellent routine on the bars and scored a 9.65 to place 17th overall. Senior Melissa Voskian scored a 9.475 on the floor exercise and a 9.4 on the vault in her final college meet. Voskian was the only Golden Rams gymnast competing in the second session.
