WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Tori Dugan scored three goals and assisted on seven others as host West Chester University registered a 20-7 victory over visiting Kutztown in a PSAC women’s lacrosse match Tuesday afternoon at Vonnie Gros Field.
West Chester (12-3, 9-1 PSAC) moved into sole possession of second place in the PSAC, following Indiana (Pa.)’s 10-9 loss to Lock Haven on Tuesday. Kutztown falls to 2-13 overall and 1-9 in the conference.
The Golden Rams scored the game’s first seven goals with Lauren Glassey and Jordan Heidelbaugh each fueling the spurt. They both finished with a hat trick. Dugan’s seven assists was a career-best for the local product while her 10 points tied a career high set last April 21st against Indiana (Pa.).
West Chester, which led 12-4 at halftime, opened the second half on a six-goal run to put the game out of reach. Six different Golden Rams scored during that brief run.
The hosts outshot the visitors by a 33-13 margin, forced Kutztown into 21 turnovers and held a 20-8 advantage in ground balls as the Rams controlled the pace of the game throughout.
Jamie Dolan finished the game with one goal and four assists. Haley Nelson also registered a hat trick.
Jess Henderson (11-3) made three saves to get the win in the cage.
West Chester finishes up the regular season this weekend with a pair of road contests. Friday, the Golden Rams will travel to LeMoyne in Syracuse, N.Y., before heading to Edinboro for the season finale.
