No. 4 LeMoyne Pulls Away Late In 12-9 Win Over No. 7 West Chester

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Fourth-ranked LeMoyne scored four unanswered goals late in the second half to open up an insurmountable lead and walk away with a 12-9 victory over seventh-ranked West Chester University Friday afternoon in Upstate New York.

West Chester (12-4) is 3-4 in its last seven games, after opening the year on a nine-game winning streak. LeMoyne (13-2) avenged its loss to the Golden Rams from a year ago.

Jennifer Fabian's 18th goal of the year with 14 minutes remaining broke an 8-all tie and sparked the Dolphins' decisive four-goal run. Kathleen Conese, Maggie Monnat and Kaitlyn Armstrong followed with tallies that put LeMoyne on top, 12-8 with just under seven minutes remaining.

Sarah Dennison found the back of the net for her second goal of the game with 4:30 left, but that was as close as the visitor's would get the rest of the way.

Jess Henderson (11-4) made nine saves in the cage in the loss while LeMoyne's Molly Marbut was credited with seven.

Jamie Dolan led all West Chester scorers with three goals. She added one assist for four points. Dennison and Brittany Long each scored twice as well for the Golden Rams. Tori Dugan was held without a point in the contest, ending a 56-game point streak. She had registered at least one point in every game since joing West Chester University's team her sophomore year before Friday.

Lauren Glassey scored a goal and registered an assist whle Nicole Pyle also scored.

West Chester closes out the regular-season portion of its schedule on Saturday at Edinboro. The Golden Rams are the second seed in the upcoming PSAC Tournament and receive a bye into the conference semifinals, which will be held at Lock Haven one week from today and tomorrow.
