Box Score 2 Indiana, Pa. - Julia O' Brien (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) delivered eight kills, four blocks, and two digs, but it still was not enough as the West Chester Golden Rams fell to the California (Pa.) Vulcans in straight sets, 3-0.
West Chester (12-8, 4-7 PSAC) after sweeping Indiana (PA) earlier in the day, were swept by Cal with scores of 25-13, 25-18 and 26-24 to split its two matches on the day. Cal improved to 16-5 overall and 9-2 in the conference to extend its personal win streak to nine. 2-
The Golden Rams struggled hitting in the match finishing with a percentage of .085. On the other hand, the Vulcans took advantage and finished with a hitting percentage of .207. The Vulcans also ousted the Rams in the dig's battle by a 77-63 margin.
For West Chester, Karleigh Lutz (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) added nine kills and two digs, while Marina Sharkey (Newtown Square, Pa./Archbishop John Carroll) contributed seven kills, four digs and one block in the lost.
Annalee Halbert (Port Murray, N.J./West Morris Central) led the Golden Rams with 25 assists and eight blocks, along with four digs. Bethany Gould (Camp Hill, Pa./Cumberland Valley) and Lyndsey Iacobelli (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) dashed out 19 and 15 digs respectively in the losing effort.
West Chester's Women's Volleyball team will get back at it tomorrow against Clarion at 10am in their third game of a 4-game road trip against the PSAC West.
