West Chester Falls to Pitt-Johnstown In Four Sets

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - After a tough five-set loss to Lock Haven Friday night, West Chester's women's volleyball squad fell to Pitt-Johnstown by a score of, 3-1.

West Chester (18-13, 8-12 PSAC) started out well taking the first set by a score of 26-24. Then Pitt-Johnstown turned the page and rattled off three straight sets by scores of 25-15, 25-19 and 28-26 to secure the win.

Julia O'Brien (New Holland, Pa. / Garden Spot), Karleigh Lutz (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley), and Cara Reese (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Fox Chapel) led the Golden Rams with 10 kills apiece and 15 digs combined in the losing effort.

Callie Krajcir (Allentown, Pa. / Parkland) led the team with 25 digs. Macon Frey (Chesapeake, Va. / Great Bridge) added 16 while Bethany Gould (Camp Hill, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) finished out with 11.

Annalee Halbert (Port Murray, N.J. / West Morris Central) chipped in with 32 assists, eight digs, and a service ace in the loss.

Pitt-Johnstown had three players record a double-double in the win.

The Golden Rams finished 5-3 on the road trip and now will head back home for back-to-back games next weekend against Kutztown and East Stroudsburg to close out the regular season.
