West Chester, ranked No. 1 in the South Region, is expected to hold onto that No. 1 ranking and earn a bye into the NCAA Division II national semifinals. That official announcement will not come until later this month, however. The win in the rubber match against Millersville this year, upped the Golden Rams record against the Marauders to 2-1 this year. The previous two regular-season encounters both went to overtime.
Â
No extra time was necessary this time around. Kusakavitch got the Rams going early with a goal in the eighth minute. Toppi dribbled along the end line and then sent a perfect pass to Kusakavitch out in front of the goal, who tapped it in for a 1-0 lead.
Â
Brown then scored with 55 seconds left in the first half to send the hosts into the break with a 2-0 lead. Toppi finished thins off in the 63rd minute when Brown found her all alone on the left post and sent her a perfect feed.
