Day Three Results
YORK, Pa. – West Chester University's 800-yard freestyle relay team closed out day three of competition at the 56th Annual PSAC Swimming Championships by setting a new conference record by three seconds at the York YMCA Saturday evening.

West Chester maintained its large lead over the rest of the field as the Golden Rams close in on their 16th consecutive conference crown and PSAC best 27th overall. West Chester has 752 points after three days at the championships. Bloomsburg is its nearest competitor in second place with 431.5 points. Indiana, Pa., has 370 points, Gannon 257, Edinboro 227, Clarion 202 and Shippensburg 142.

The 800 free relay, consisting of Bradley Strathmeyer, Phil Letcavage, Jared Haley and Victor Polyakov, touched the wall in 6 minutes, 34.66 seconds – outdoing their own school record of 6:37.63, which the foursome set back in November.

Polyakov started the night with his third individual conference title, winning the 500 free with a time of 4:27.31. Strathmeyer was right behind him in second in 4:27.36, and Haley placed third in 4:28.88. The Golden Rams also took fifth and eighth in the finals.

Polyakov's countryman, Dan Sokman, picked up his first individual PSAC title with a win in the 100 back. He touched in 50.63 seconds. Michael O'Brien was second in 51.20.

Bogdan Grebenyuk won the 100 breaststroke in 55.06 while David McCormick was fourth in 56.01 seconds.

The PSAC Championships conclude on Sunday afternoon with the five final events of the weekend: 100 free, 200 back, 200 breast, 1650 free and 400 free relay.
