KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Matt Petrizzi's two RBI double capped a four run six inning rally as West Chester University baseball earned a double header split with a 6-4 victory in game 2 at Kutztown University in the PSAC East opener Saturday afternoon at North Campus Field.
Sunday's rematch originally scheduled for 1 p.m. at Serpico Field has been moved to a 2 p.m. start.
The Golden Rams (8-4, 1-1 PSAC East) trailed 3-1 going to the fifth when with two outs
Mike Raimo hit a double and Petrizzi followed with an RBI single two close the gap to 3-2. Kutztown (10-4, 1-1 PSAC East) took the opener 9-0 as Brandon Shimo pitched six innings of one-hit ball to pick up the victory.
The Golden Bears regained a two run lead with run in the bottom of the fifth.
Robert Knox started the decisive rally with a leadoff single,
Tyler Coleman, who homered in the second for West Chester's first run of the day, added a one out single, and
Rob Spekhardt knocked in Knox with an RBI single to left to make it a 4-3 game to end the day for starter Colin Holmes (1-1) and bring on relief pitcher Matt Swarmer.
Raimo tied the game with a two out single to left, his third hit of the game, to bring up Petrizzi who doubled to left, and score Spekhardt and Raimo to give the Golden Rams its first lead of the day at 6-4.
Kyle Weary (1-0), who replaced starter Matt McAllister with two outs in the bottom of the fifth, pitched two and a third scoreless innings to pick up his first victory of the season. McAllister went 4 2/3 giving up four runs on eight hits.
The Golden Rams picked up 11 hits in the nightcap, led by Raimo with three, Petrizzi had a pair of hits and three RBI, Coleman had two as did

In the opener Kutztown scored four times in the bottom of the third off starter Fred Breidenbach, with the aid of a one out walk, an error, a balk and a two run triple by Kyle Stoudt, to break a scoreless tie. Breidenbach (1-2) took the loss going 4 innings and giving up four earned runs.
Kyle Frazier broke up the no-hitter with a one out single in the sixth, for West Chester's only hit of the contest.
West Chester and Kutztown finish the home and home series at Serpico Field on Sunday with the first pitch at 2 p.m.
