No. 14 West Chester Falls 15-10 at Seton Hill

GREENSBURG, Pa. – Seton Hill University's women lacrosse scored five consecutive goals to break a 1-1 tie midway through the first half en route to a 15-10 victory over No. 14 West Chester University Saturday afternoon in PSAC action in Greensburg, Pa.

The Golden Rams (7-4, 4-4 PSAC) tied the score at 1-1 on a goal from Dina Cifelli after 10 minutes of play. The Griffins (10-4, 5-4 PSAC) scored less than a minute later and never relinquished the lead.

Hannah Cowan scored five times for West Chester and Cifelli had two goals and three assists.

Emma Simmers scored five goals and added three assists to lead the way for Seton Hill. Emily Fagan scored three of her four goals in the first half and the Griffins ended the half with an 8-1 run to take a 9-2 lead into the break.

West Chester scored first in the second half on a Cowan tally, but Seton Hill built the lead to 11-3 by scoring the next two goals and the Golden Rams could get no closer than the final score of 15-10.

Jess Henderson made six saves in net for West Chester in suffering the loss and Meghan Hollar stopped 10 shots to pick up the victory.
West Chester returns to action at Vonnie Gros Field on Tuesday in another PSAC contest against Shippensburg at 4 p.m.
