Box Score EDINBORO, Pa. – Hannah Cowan and Erin Eckert each scored four goals, and Dina Cifelli registered five points, to lead visiting West Chester to a 17-6 victory over host Edinboro in a PSAC women's lacrosse match inside Sox Harrison Stadium Friday afternoon.
West Chester (9-4, 6-4 PSAC) strengthened its playoff hopes with the win over Edinboro (7-7, 3-7).
The Golden Rams scored 10 goals in the first half and seven more in the second half while holding the host Fighting Scots to just two goals after halftime. West Chester goalkeeper, Jess Henderson (9-4), made nine saves in 54 minutes of action. Courtney O'Connell came on and played the last six minutes.
Sarah Dennison scored twice and added an assist while Erin Scheno also scored twice. Kelsey Gumbert posted one goal and one assist. Gina Eberwein and Erin Gallagher each scored as well.
Cydney Hrycko and Rebecca Martin each scored twice for Edinboro. Rachel Olsen and Jenny Wirth also had a goal. Scots' goalkeeper Autumn Held made nine saves in the loss.
West Chester continues its western swing on Saturday afternoon with a conference tilt against No. 7 Indiana University of Pa.
