Box Score WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Eighth-ranked Lock Haven University doubled up West Chester's scoring in the second half en route to a 9-6 victory in a PSAC women's lacrosse match at windy Vonnie Gros Field Saturday afternoon.
West Chester (6-3, 3-3 PSAC) has now dropped two of its last three contests while Lock Haven (7-2, 4-1 PSAC) is now riding a five-game winning streak.
The Golden Rams received a goal from Erin Eckert with 1:39 left in the first half to draw within one, 5-4, at halftime. However, that was as close as the Golden Rams would get in the second half. The Lady Eagles outscored West Chester, 4-2, in the final 20 minutes, dominating time of possession, to come away with the conference win. West Chester, who never led or tied in the game, drew within a goal on three separate occasions in the first half. But, the Rams could not find the equalizer before Lock Haven lengthened its lead each time.
Hannah Cowan finished with three goals while Dina Cifelli had a pair of assists. Jordan Heidelbaugh and Melinda Speers scored West Chester's other two goals.
Lock Haven was led by Jess Pandolf and Kelly Hamilton's three points. They each scored two goals and assisted on another. Rachel Ward and Taylor Klunk each scored twice as well for the Lady Eagles.
Jess Henderson (6-3) made six saves in the cage for West Chester while Lock Haven's Chrissy Baffuto (7-2) was credited with nine stops.
West Chester hits the road, traveling to Gannon on Wednesday for a PSAC contest against the Golden Knights at 3 p.m.
