Julia O'Brien (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) each posted 14 kills, but the Golden Rams fell to Barry University, 3-1, in its second match of the day at the East Stroudsburg Invitational inside Koehler Fieldhouse Friday night.
West Chester (5-1) saw its season-opening five-match winning streak come to a close with the 25-22, 26-24, 19-25, 29-27 defeat at the hands of Barry (5-1).
Sharkey added six blocks and eight digs in her second match of the day. She posted 12 kills and 22 digs in a win over Southern New Hampshire.
Victoria Cruciani (Phoenixville, Pa./Pope John Paul II) registered a season-high nine blocks in the loss. Callie Krajcir (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) notched 24 digs. Annalee Halbert had 24 assists while Macon Frey had 18 assists.
For West Chester, the East Stroudsburg Invitational continues on Sunday when the Golden Rams return to the Pocono Region to face Pace University and Bloomfield College.
