ERIE, Pa. - Max Adarkwah (Ghana/Phelps School [Pa.]) scored in the 63rd minute, and visiting West Chester made it hold up as the Golden Rams defeated host Gannon, 1-0, in a PSAC men's soccer match Saturday evening.
West Chester (4-2, 2-0 PSAC) won its second game in as many days during its road trip to Erie, Pa., this weekend. The Golden Rams also won consecutive games for the first time this fall. Gannon falls to 2-4 overall and 1-1 in the conference.Â
Freshman goalkeeper Matt Palmer (Bangor, Pa./Bangor) made five saves in his second start in as many days. He also registered the shutout, playing all 90 minutes. Giovanni Mowrey (Bethlehem, Pa./Notre Dame Green Pond) deflected a pass from 25 yards out over to Adarkwah, who finished into the bottom right corner for the lone score of the match.
West Chester returns home on Wednesday for a doubleheader against Lock Haven with the women's team beginning at 2 p.m.
