Ben Mingledough (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) and
Parrish Grant (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) combined for 38 points, 19 apiece, on 13-for-20 shooting, but could not get the Golden Rams over the hump in a 99-92 loss to Holy Family University Sunday night inside Hollinger Field House.

West Chester (7-10) battled back from a 16-point deficit at halftime to tie the game at 76-all with five minutes remaining in the contest, but could never wrestle the lead from Holy Family (12-4). The Tigers rebounded with a 5-0 run to stretch the lead just enough and hang on for the win. An 11-1 run in that final five-minute span was the difference in the ballgame Sunday night.

The Golden Rams used a 19-9 spurt early on in the second half, sparked by a technical foul against the Tigers and some key 3-pointers from Grant and buckets on fast breaks in transition from Mingledough, to get back into the game.

Holy Family came out shooting well making its first six shots from the field, including 5-for-9 from 3-point range in the first 10 minutes of the game as the visitors built their seemingly insurmountable lead.

Cory Blake (West Chester, Pa./Rustin) contributed with 13 points, passing Chet Blair for 15th all-time on the scoring list at West Chester University. He also grabbed eight rebounds.
Tyrell Long (Philadelphia, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) has become a scoring threat as of late, adding 13 points to round out the double-figure scoring.

Matt Wiseley (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) chipped in with nine points and eight rebounds.
Thomas White (Chester, Pa./Penn Wood) added eight points and four boards down in the paint.

Tigers' guard Reggie Charles, a transfer from Shippensburg University, shot an impressive 9-for-15 from the field and 11-for-12 from the free-throw line for a game-high 30 points, to go with seven rebounds, three assists and two steals. Eric Flemming shot 60-percent from the field for 16 points, while Marvin Crawford scored 16 points on 4-for-6 shooting from the field.

Hunter Wysocki added instant offense off the bench for 11 points, eight in the first half. Derrick Stewart provided 11 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals down in the low post, despite the Golden Rams out-rebounding Holy Family, 45-32.

The Golden Rams will have six days rest before they head on the road for a showdown with defending PSAC champion and the pre-season favorite East Stroudsburg University next Saturday at 3 p.m.
