Box Score JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – West Chester lost their second-straight sweep of the weekend, 3-0 as Pitt-Johnstown would take the victory by scores of 25-18, 25-20 and 25-20 Saturday afternoon inside the Sports Center.
The Golden Rams (19-8, 7-8) burst out of the gate with four straight points to go up 5-1 in the first set, but the Mountain Lions battled back rattling off seven points, five on WCU errors. Pitts-Johnstown (21-3, 13-1 PSAC) remains in first place of the PSAC East Division as the first team in the East to win over 20-games.
Jillian Grammer (Center Valley, Pa. / Southern Lehigh) register a team-high 24 assists, to go with seven digs, two kills, and two service aces in the match.
Molly Grammer (Center Valley, Pa. / Southern Lehigh) led the team with 14 kills, but still was not enough to bring back the Golden Rams down the stretch.
Allie Duffy (Carlisle, Pa. / Carlisle) went for 8.5 points with seven kills, two digs, and a service ace.
Nicky Yates (Coopersburg, Pa. / Southern Lehigh) had a team-high 16 digs, to go with six assists, while
Victoria Cruciani (Phoenixville, Pa. / Pope John Paul II) went for five kills and two blocks in the loss.
West Chester will look to rebound as they head back to campus for a seven-game home stand before the end of the regular season. They kick off with a back-to-back against Kutztown on Oct. 30th at 7 p.m. and East Stroudsburg on Oct. 31st at 2 p.m.
