West Chester Defeats Holy Family In PSAC Vs. CACC Battle, 73-60

West Chester, Pa. – Sr., G Brittany Sicinski (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown West) scored in double digits for her fifth-straight game with a game-high 17 points to lead West Chester  over Holy Family 73-60 to close out the month of November inside Hollinger Fieldhouse Sunday afternoon.
 
The Golden Rams (4-2) improve to 2-1 on the year against non-conference opponents shooting over 40 percent from the field, including a 9 for 21 spurt fron beyond-the-arc. Holy Family (3-3) jumped out to a 6-0 lead to end the first quarter up four, but could not get back on track down double-figures in the early stages of the third quarter.
 
West Chester surged ahead on a 16-2 rout going 7 for 8 from the free throw line to create their largest lead of the day at 18 after the Tigers cut the deficit to four three minutes out of the break. They would secure the 13-point victory from a eight-shot  difference in made attempts from all spots on the floor.
 
Down by 17-13 early, West Chester came out firing on a 20-9 run within the second quarter to take the lead after a three-point basket from Porscha Speller (Lancaster, Pa. / Lancaster Catholic) put the Golden Rams up by three. The team added on with sequences of back-to-back baskets by Sicinski then Speller to lead by nine and eventually seven heading into the break (37-30).
 
Sicinski added six rebounds, six assists, and three steals in the victory.  Speller added 11 points on 3 of 4 from 3-point range to put together a 9 for 21 from three for the team. Center Anna Kuntz (Camp Hill, Pa. / Trinity) registered 12 points, all in the second half to provide a huge boost down the stretch and tied a career-high with three blocks on the defensive end.
 
Senior Dallas Ely (Montrose, Pa. / Montrose) tallied a season-high six assists on the day and snagged eight rebounds with nine points. Kendall Benovy (Hershey, Pa. / Hershey) matched Ely with a nine points and grabbed a season-high seven rebounds in the process.
 
 
Tigers' Kasey Woetzel scored a team-high 14 points from a 6 of 9 performance from the field. Erin Fenningham added 13 points to go with six rebounds, three steals, and two assists. Forward Abigail Iannotti went 5 for 9 for 12 points overall and grabbed six rebounds in the loss.
 
 
West Chester travels for a PSAC-East clash with Shippensburg University on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
