Ashley Pyle and
Dina Cifelli each registered eight points while
Hannah Cowan scored five goals to lead 16th-ranked West Chester University to a 23-9 win over host Shippensburg in a PSAC women's lacrosse contest at Robb Sports Complex Tuesday.

West Chester (8-4. 6-3 PSAC) won its season-high third straight contest. Shippensburg (3-10, 1-7) dropped its third straight.

With the game knotted up at 2-apiece seven minutes into the tilt, West Chester rattled off eight unanswered goals to pull away and take a 10-2 lead. The Raiders ended that run with a marker at the 16-minute mark. But, the Golden Rams ran off five more tallies to take a 15-3 advantage. Shippensburg added one more goal just before halftime, but the Rams were in control by then. West Chester's 15 goals in the first half are the most this season.

Pyle finished with five goals and three assists while Cifelli reversed those numbers to match Pyle's total.
Sarah Dennison registered a hat trick and four points in the win as well.

Shippensburg was led by Sheila Johnson's game-high six goals.

Merrilee Viguers (7-3) made three saves to pick up the win in the cage for West Chester.

The Golden Rams host Edinboro on Friday at Vonnie Gros Field while entertaining Indiana (Pa.) on Saturday. Both games are set for 3 p.m. starts.
