Top Ranked West Chester Downs Seton Hill 6-0.

GREENSBURG, Pa. – Six different Golden Rams scored as the top ranked West Chester University field hockey team shutout host Seton Hill 6-0 Saturday afternoon at Dicks Sporting Goods Field.

Sophomore Rachel Toppi (Glassboro, N.J. / Glassboro) opened the scoring for West Chester (6-0) at the 9:30 mark in the first half with an assist from Alayna Brown (Telford, Pa. / Souderton).

The Golden Rams built the lead to 4-0 by half with goals from Marnie Kusakavitch (Pittston, Pa. / Holy Redeemer),  Mary Spisak (Boiling Springs, Pa. / Boiling Springs), and Dayle Paustian (Martinsville, N.J. / Bridgewater-Raritan).

Kristina Scherrer (Enola, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) and Alexis Versak (Limerick, Pa. / Spring-Ford) scored in the second half to close out the scoring.

West Chester goalkeeper Sarah Krause (Lancaster, Pa. / Conestoga Valley) was credited with two saves in recording her third straight shutout and improving to 6-0 on the season. Alexandra Piekarz made 10 saves in goal for the Griffins (0-5).

West Chester opens up conference action, on Wednesday September 23, when it travels to take on No.3 Millersville University. The game will be aired on ESPN3 at 6:00 pm.
