WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester University returns from Thanksgiving break with a non-conference Olt inside Hollinger Field House against Bowie State out of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association. The Golden Rams are even on the year at 2-2 while the Bulldogs bring a mark of 2-2 into the contest. It is the first game since Thanksgiving break for the two schools. West Chester has won all five meetings with Bowie State in the all-Ome series datng back to 1992. Four of those five contests were played right here in Hollinger Field House. Last winter, the Golden Rams ventured down to the Old Line State and captured an 80-68 victory over the Bulldogs in their only trip to Bowie, Md. Ironically, these two schools have never played outside the month of November in the five meetngs since1992.
Saturday's tilt, along with a game on this date back in 2013, is the latest in a season that these two regional rivals have played. The Golden Rams are riding a two-game winning streak into today's non-conference clash while the Bulldogs ended a modest twogame losing streak last weekend with a win over Alderson-Broaddus.
Men's Basketball Notes ... West Chester won both PSAC West crossover games this weekend, topping Gannon, 73-63, and beatng Clarion, 92-67 … after dropping its first two games at the West Liberty Tip-OffTournament, including a loss to the No. 1 team in the country, the Golden Rams bounced back with a pair of wins in conference … West Chester evened the all-time series with Gannon
at 5-5 … the 10-point margin of victory was one more point than the last five combined encounters between the two schools … Malik Jackson has now eclipsed 20 points in each of the three games in which he has played this year … Mike Jolaoso posted doublefigures in the scoring column for the third straight game … Sunday against Clarion, West Chester roared out to a 20-4 lead and never looked back … the Golden Rams are now 9-8 all-time against the Golden Eagles … Malik Jackson scored 20 points for the third straight game in which he has appeared … Jackson Hyland scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds against Clarion on Sunday.
Bowie State Notes ... Playing their first home game of the season, Bowie State University took full advantage of the friendly surroundings to claim an 88-72 non-conference decision over Alderson Broaddus University on Saturday afternoon at the A.C. Jordan Arena. The win snapped a two-game slide for the Bulldogs and also ended a three-game losing streak to Alderson Broaddus. The
Bowie State Bulldogs (2-2) led from beginning to end and were led by junior Ahmaad Wilson with a game-high 21 points, which included a perfect 10-of-10 at the charity stripe. Seniors Michael Briscoe, Enuoma Ebinum and Brian Kelley tallied 14, 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Up next ... The men's team opens a five-game road swing next Tuesday at Bloomfield College. The Golden Rams then head out West
to play Slippery Rock University and Edinboro University on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 3-4.
