Box Score Kutztown, Pa. – After suffering its first loss of the regular season in overtime to Mercyhurst by one goal, West Chester rebounded with a 16-9 victory over Kutztown inside Keystone Field Wednesday afternoon.
The Golden Rams (6-1, 2-1 PSAC) came back from four goals down (5-1) throughout the first 15 minutes rattling off two five-goal sequences at the end of the first and beginning of the second to hold the advantage. Kutztown (5-3, 1-3 PSAC) found themselves down by one goal at the end of the first half, but was limited to only two goals in the second.
Junior
Ashley Pyle (Springfield, Pa. / Garnet Valle) had three goals and three assists for six points, while junior
Oliva Martin (Havertown, Pa. / Haverford) scored a season-high four goals to go with two assists, registering a season-high in points with six on the day. Four other teammates registered two goals each in the seven-point victory.
Golden Bears' Makayla Bowen recorded a team-high three goals. Sarah Gabrielle added two goals and three assists, while Lauren Higgins contributed three assists and a goal in the loss.
West Chester comes home for a match up with non-conference opponent Georgian Court University tomorrow at 4 p.m.
