Box Score PHILADELPHIA - Erin Eckert (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) scored a career-high seven goals to lead ninth-ranked West Chester University to a 19-9 victory over host Holy Family Tuesday afternoon.
West Chester (3-0), playing its first game away from home in 2016, fell behind early, 3-2. However, a four-goal spurt 10 minutes into the contest put the Golden Rams in front for good en route to the win over Holy Family (0-5).
Sami Barnett (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro), Kristen Vath (Milford, N.J./Delaware Valley), Ashley Pyle (Springfield, Pa./Garnet Valley) and
Hannah Cowan (Wilmington, Del./Ursuline Academy) each scored in a span of 4 minutes, 42 seconds to turn a 3-2 deficit into a 6-3 lead.
Vath finished with three goals and one assist for four points. Pyle scored twice and assisted on three others. Cowan also had a hat trick, and Barnett finished with a pair of goals.
Paige Mitros (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) (3-0) made five saves in goal for the Golden Rams.
West Chester travels to Catawba on Friday for a non-conference game.
