Men's Soccer Falls to Gannon, 2-1

West Chester, Pa. -  West Chester (3-1-0, 2-1-0 PSAC) suffered their first defeat of the season, dropping a 2-1 decision to the Gannon Golden Knights (2-1-1, 1-0-1 PSAC) on a brutally hot Saturday afternoon inside Rockwell Field.
 
The Golden Rams scored the initial goal of the game at the 7:52 mark, as junior midfielder Tim French (Bensalem, Pa. / Holy Ghost Prep} hit for his first goal of the year. He was assisted by junior forward Max Adarkwah (Accra, Ghana / Phelps School (Pa.).
 
An unassisted goal by Sergio Kobowane at 23:13 knotted the score at one apiece.
 
Nearly two minutes later, Mathias Krigbaum put in the game winner for Gannon with an assist coming from Luis Driemel.
 
West Chester goalkeeper James Woods (West Chester, Pa. / Henderson) recorded 14 saves in 90 minutes of play.
 
Gannon's Jorge Hernandez made 1 save to earn the win in net.
 
The next action for the Golden Rams will come next Wednesday as they travel to Old Westbury, New York to take on the New York Institute of Technology at 4 p.m.
