No. 12 West Chester Slows Down Seton Hill, 14-7

Box Score

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Tatum Altman (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) scored four goals, and Ashley Pyle (Springfield, Pa./Garnet Valley) netted a hat trick, to lead 12th-ranked West Chester University to a 14-7 PSAC women's lacrosse victory over visiting Seton Hill on a rain-soaked Saturday at Vonnie Gros Field.

West Chester (11-3, 8-2 PSAC) will now prepare for a showdown potentially for the conference crown on Wednesday against East Stroudsburg. Seton Hill (9-7, 6-5), which was receiving votes in last week's national rankings, is still alive for a postseason tournament bid.

The rain poured down virtually all game long, but that did not dampen the spirits of the seven seniors on Senior Day. Dina Cifelli (Robbinsville, N.J./Notre Dame) finished with five points (1 goal, 4 assists) on her special day while Pyle had three points. Kristen Vath (Milford, N.J./Delaware Valley) posted three points (2 goals, 1 assist) while Olivia Martin (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) finished with a goal and an assist. Altman added an assist to her four goals to finish with five points.

Tara Morrissey (Downingtown, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) scored twice, and Ali Donohue (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) had the other Golden Rams' tally.

Nicole Martins (Bethlehem, Pa./Saucon Valley) made a season-high 13 saves in the cage to improve to 11-3 overall. Seton Hill's Meghan Hollar made 12 saves in the loss.
