Box Score

ERIE, Pa. – Sr. Ashely Pyle (Springfield, Pa./Garnet Valley) registered a game-high nine points while Dina Cifelli (Robbinsville, N.J./Notre Dame) posted eight to lead the visiting 11th-anked Golden Rams past Gannon University, 21-6, in a PSAC women's lacrosse match Friday afternoon.

West Chester (7-2, 4-1 PSAC) found the lead early and did not look back as Cifelli dished a pass to give Pyle her 22nd goal for the season. Despite the weather and tough wind conditions, the Golden Rams found four more goals within the first 12 minutes of the half, before Gannon's (2-7, 0-5 PSAC) Leilani King would score the first points for the hosts off of a free position shot with 18:11 left in the first half. The Golden Knights scored two more goals within a five-minute span. However, senior Olivia Martin (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) (4 goals) contributed by maintaining the lead at 6-3 with 13:58 left. The Golden Rams then went on a 5-0 run to close the half at 11-3. Sophomore Sami Barnett (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) also found a goal towards the end of the half.

Throughout the second half, the Golden Rams continued their run as Cifelli scored her ninth goal of the season with the game at 12-3. Altogether, West Chester went on a 9-3 run to close the game.

Eight Golden Rams found the goal on several occasions. Barnett added four points (2 goals, 2 assists) throughout the afternoon while Kristen Vath (Milford, N.J./Delaware Valley) registered her fourth hat trick in five games. Carleigh MacWilliams (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) and Alex Wending (West Chester, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) also found the goal towards the end of the game for West Chester.

Goalkeeper Nicole Martins (Bethlehem, Pa./Saucon Valley) made seven saves in the cage for the Golden Rams to improve to 7-2 overall on the year.

West Chester will travel to Slippery Rock University on Friday for another PSAC contest Saturday at 3 p.m.
