Last week on Tuesday, June 20
th, West Chester University celebrated a twenty two year career that has undoubtedly brought the West Chester University Golden Rams Athletic Department to national prowess. Dr. Edward Matejkovic ('69) was recognized and honored by friends, family, and colleagues for his genuine service to Golden Rams athletics from 1995 through June 2017.
Dr. Matejkovic's outstanding record of excellence was discussed at length, and the list goes on. His pride, passion, and love for West Chester was on display as he thanked guests for attending and shared some memories from his over 47 year career in education as a student-athlete, graduate student, teacher, coach, athletic director, father and husband.
Dr. Matejkovic was presented with a check of more than $30,000, with a lead gift from campus partners
PSECU and
Student Services Inc. (SSI) for the
Dr. Edward Matejkovic ('69) Scholarship Endowment. In the future this endowment will produce two scholarships to be presented to one male and one female rising senior within the WCU Athletics program. These student-athletes will be nominated by their coach for exemplifying leadership qualities and an unparalleled passion for WCU Athletics.
