WACO, Texas - West Chester University's football squad jumped two spots to No. 11 in the latest American Football Coaches' Association (AFCA) weekly poll released Monday morning.
West Chester (6-0) is coming off a 17-14 road win over Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division rival Bloomsburg on Saturday. The No. 11 ranking is the highest the Golden Rams have been ranked this season and the highest the team has reached since topping out at No. 7 in October 2014.
West Chester was not ranked in the preseason AFCA coaches' poll. However, the Golden Rams have appeared in the national polls each of the last five weeks during the regular season, debuting at No. 23 following a convincing season-opening win on the road at Bentley.
The Golden Rams are off this week and do not play again until a road game at East Stroudsburg on Saturday, Oct. 20.
