Jackson Hyland (AVONDALE, PA./KENNETT) and junior
Malik Jackson (LANSDOWNE, PA./PENN WOOD) both went off for 23 points on Monday, as the West Chester University men's basketball team cruised past Chestnut Hill 107-70 at home to give the Golden Rams their first victory of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- West Chester jumped out to a sizable lead early by putting up 11 points before the visitors were able to find the bottom of the net. Up 14-4, two three-pointer from Jackson sparked an 11-0 spurt to put the home team in front 25-4 with just under 13 to play in the opening quarter. The Golden Rams were able to push their advantage to over 30 in the final six minutes of the opening stanza, with back-to-back free throws by sophomore Evan-Eric Longino (FURLONG, PA. /GERMANTOWN ACADEMY) to give West Chester its largest lead of the game (65-27) as time expired in the first frame.
- The home team kept its foot on the gas in the second half and managed to extend its cushion to as many as 41 (94-53) following a layup by senior Miko Jenkins (HARRISBURG, PA./STEEL CC OF BEAVER COUNTY) with 7:11 to play. The Griffins were unable to hack the lead any smaller than 35 points for the remainder of the frame as WCU cruised to the 37-point victory on Monday night.

- West Chester shot 38-of-76 (45%) from the floor and knocked down 12 of their 26 attempts (46%) from beyond the arc on Monday evening.
- The guard tandem of Hyland and Jackson combined for 46 points against the Griffins, with Hyland adding five boards, four assists, and three steals. Getting the start at point guard, Jackson's 23 points came on 7-of-11 shooting from deep to tie a career high in made three-point field goals – a number that stands tied for third most in a single game in West Chester history.
- Senior Frank Rokins (PLAINFIELD, N.J./ST. MARY'S) handed out a career-high eight assists in the win, to go along with 11 points and seven rebounds in 23 minutes.
- Off the bench, sophomore Terrence Moore (PHILADELPHIA, PA./AUDRIEND) put up a career-best 17 points and eight boards, while newcomer Nick Alikakos (WEST CHESTER, PA./THE HILL SCHOOL) chipped in 10 points in 10 minutes for the Golden Rams.
- WCU forced a season-high 22 turnovers on the night, which is the most the Golden Rams have totaled since the squad coaxed Shippensburg into 23 turnovers back in February 2017.
- West Chester's 107 total points on Monday were the most for the Golden Rams since WCU tallied the same total in blowout victories over Cheyney (107-65) and Millersville (107-63) last season.
- The Golden Rams kept the Griffins to just 21 rebounds on the night, which stands as the fewest by a WCU opponent since Seton Hill only managed to pull down 18 boards during the 2014-15 season.

- Colin Flach connected of four triples for 12 points off the bench on Monday, while Amir Warrick added six points and four boards in 17 minutes played.
