WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester University's men's swimmers continued their solid performance at this weekend's dual meet against Arcadia University in the annual Golden Rams Classic held in Graham Natatorium.
The Golden Rams placed first in both of their relay competitions on Saturday, showcasing some depth and displaying multiple options for the conference meet. In the men's 800-yard freestyle relay, West Chester had five swimmers making times around the 1:41 mark to predict the line-ups for PSAC's for the Golden Rams.
Leo Chaves (Brazil) set a pool record with this first-place finish in the 100 butterfly with a time of 48.58 seconds.
Tom Powell III (West Grove, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) took first in the 200 free, which ended up being a lifetime best for the junior, and is the top time in the conference.
Keir Uhlin (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) placed second in the 200 free, which also tallied as a personal best and second in the conference.
Jarod Anderson (Newville, Pa./Big Spring) swam a lifetime best to win the 100 breaststroke for the Golden Rams. For the time being Anderson's time stands as a PSAC best.
West Chester and Arcadia conclude their three-day dual meet on Sunday with a morning session at 10 a.m. and an evening session at 5 p.m.
