WEST CHESTER, Pa.-
In front of a crowd of more than 1,100 strong on Saturday afternoon prior to the West Chester-Kutztown men's basketball game, the West Chester University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) continued what has become something of a tradition for the Golden Rams that is unique to Division II-Granting a wish to a deserving child in partnership with the Make A Wish Foundation.

The West Chester SAAC dedicates much of its work throughout each academic year to the support of the Make A Wish Foundation. Through countless fundraisers and Make A Wish events, the main goal of SAAC is to raise enough money to cover the cost of granting a child a wish in partnership with Make-A-Wish. This initiative is unique to Division II and it is something that the WCU SAAC has been a leader in during recent years as the Golden Rams have been fortunate enough to grant a wish three years in a row.

This year, the SAAC was able to work with the Make A Wish Foundation of Philadelphia, Delaware, and Susquehanna Valley to identify a child to come to campus for a wish reveal. Eagleville native, Brody was the perfect choice. Brody has been diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension, which creates high blood pressure in the arteries to the lungs, thus, making one's heart work much harder to pump blood and making it a struggle to breathe for those diagnosed with this condition.

Being true to the day, the SAAC, scores of other Golden Ram athletes, and the Golden Ram faithful were on hand to surprise Brody by revealing his wish prior to introductions for the men's basketball game- to travel to Disney World in March with his family. SAAC provided Brody with all the supplies one might need for an enjoyable flight to and from Disney including some new luggage, a Golden Ram shirt, a stuffed version of Golden Ram mascot-Rammy, and an assortment of other fun activities for the flight.

On behalf of everyone at West Chester University Athletics, have fun Brody!
